Hey Russell, yea, that’s a tough one. But awareness is half the battle. Now you can know the right techniques to conquer it and with a positive attitude, its just a matter of time. Do the launching point practice, and slow it down super slow. If the song is usually at 120 bpms, slow it down to 80, then slowly increase it by increments of 10 as you get comfortable.

Hey Tracy, yea, Blessed Be Your Name is a bit fast and the melody is off beat a bit from the rhythm, so it may be a bit hard to follow for a first song trying to tackle the pattern. If I were you, I’d try out one of the songs in the 7 day song challenge section. All 4 of those use the driving pattern and they are much simpler in terms of structure. oh, I see. Yes, the 4th fret pressed down on the G string would be a B note. The G# note shows up with your pinky on the 6th fret of the D string.

In general, all these chords are not barred. They are called power chords and are an alternative to barre chords. But  you need to avoid strumming the low E string
