Hey Robert, yes those other chords will come in time. As you try learning your favorite songs, you will meet some new chords, and that’s the perfect time to learn them, when trying to learn your favorite songs.
I took a listen to Morning Has Broken, and yes, you are right. It’s a waltz timing, which is 3/4 time (3 beats per measure). You could use the swing pattern from lesson 8, or the…Read More -

Hello Raleigh, I’m glad you’re enjoying the lessons so far.
I don’t have any recommendations for singing lessons, as I haven’t looked into it before.
My advice is to sing and play and record yourself, then go back and listen to your recording, and be your own critic. You can hear mistakes you make when you listen back to yourself that you don’t hear when you are in the process of singing.…Read More -

Welcome to the SG family, Gee!
That is a wonderful motivator to keep you going when practices get rough. Stick with it and you will get there!
All the best!–Jonathan

Hey Kristy, I don’t have a particular lesson on the sway pattern. But it’s just like the swing pattern (3 beats per measure), except you strum full and hard on beat 1, that’s where your emphasis will be. Then softer on beats 2 and 3. And add an upstrum after beat 2 and 3.
If you watch my song tutorial on the song “I Still Believe” I explain the Sway pattern at the end of the…Read More -

Hey Perrin, I’d say the most important is to hit that root note on the 1st beat of the 1st measure you switch to a new chord. After that, if you accidently hit more strings on that 1st beat it’s ok, because you’ve established you’ve switched notes.
