Dear Jonathan,

I have found it burdensome to memorize a song while strumming but I am able to strum while reading the song sheet or tab. I am 70 years old, must I memorize a song  or can I just sing along from the song sheet or tab?

Hey Ike, I also struggle with memorizing songs, and I always read from a chord chart. Even when playing in front of people in a small group I’ll pull up the song chord chart on my phone. So don’t feel bad. It’s totally ok.
