Hey everyone. This week’s live class, I went over the building blocks of strumming. This is crucial info if you want to eventually be able to play songs on the fly without needing someone to tell you how to strum it. Watch the replay below:

I went through the replay of the foundations of strumming and i’d like to say that you’ve done an excellent job.But just to make sure that I understood the content of this course  may I resume it in saying that as long as you are following the measure of a song you can strum one, two, four, eight or sixteen strokes depending how you feel it.Am I right?

    Regards

Yes, that’s the idea. Obviously, some will sound better than others, but it can work with many of these different options. As you said, the most important factor is the length of the measures. Is the song in 4/4 time, 3/4 time, or 6/8 time? Once you have that determined, then you can fill in those measures with whole note strumming, half note, quarter, 8th, or 16th note strumming.

You never fail until you quit!
