    Hey Aida. When playing the folk pattern, you should always play the root note of the chord for beat 1 of the measure. Which will not always be the low E string. Like you said, the F#m, A2, C#m, Bsus4, and G#m in the E family, all have the A string as their root note. Only the E chord has the E string as the root note.
