Hello Jonathon,

I would like to practice with a metronome to improve my timing.  Is there a way to figure out the timing of a song if the beats per minute is not published on the chord chart?  Or can you put the BPM on your chord charts that are sold on Musicnotes?

Hey Dean, you can find some of the song’s BPM’s on the song tutorial on the website. But I stopped putting that info for newer songs, because it was difficult to keep up with, and the exact BPM is not really that important. If you want, you can put on a metronome while playing the video and find a BPM that is at least close, and that will work.

For instance, slower songs are usually between 80 to 100. Average songs are around 120, and fast songs can be around 140-160. That should get you a good ball park. But try a song at one tempo, and see how it feels. If it feels too slow or fast to keep up with, adjust it as needed. The BPM can change from one player to another for the same song. It’s more a personal preference.
