Privacy policy

What the community collects

We request your Patreon identity, display name, profile image, and membership entitlement to the Simplified Guitar campaign. We do not request your Patreon password or payment card details. We store a stable Patreon ID so your profile returns when your paid membership resumes. If you approve email access during Patreon sign-in, we also save your Patreon email for community notifications. New member profiles start with all four notification categories on; existing members keep their saved choices. You can turn any category off in Notifications.

Private content and access

The development preview stores community posts, comments, profiles, likes, photos, videos, and one-to-one text messages. Community posts are visible to authorized paid members and the instructor. A private conversation is visible only to its two participants while they have community access. Uploaded photos are resized and have image metadata removed. Videos use restricted playback links.

Providers and cookies

Hosting uses Vercel, with database and private photo storage on Supabase, identity and membership on Patreon, and video hosting on Mux. Resend delivers enabled notification categories while you have paid community access. Notification emails do not include private messages or post content. Essential, HTTP-only cookies maintain your session and protect sign-in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies in this milestone.

Proposed retention and deletion

Cancellation preserves your profile and content until you renew or request deletion. The proposed policy is to retain inactive accounts for up to 24 months, with notice before removal. A deletion request hides your profile, posts, and photos and revokes every community session immediately. Your comments and messages you sent show a removed-content placeholder to other participants. Content removal is proposed within 30 days, with backups aging out within 90 days. Replies belonging to others may remain with your identity removed. Necessary moderation records may be retained for up to 12 months. Automated content removal and inactivity notices must be implemented before launch.

Your choices

You can request deletion from your account page. For exports, corrections, or help during this preview, contact Jonathan through Patreon. You can turn off all email categories in Notifications. Some email apps also provide an unsubscribe control. Deleting your community account does not cancel your Patreon subscription.

Before launch

The owner must confirm the legal business identity, contact address, member age policy, regions served, retention periods, and applicable privacy rights before this policy becomes final.
