Hey lyn
That theory stuff sure does your head in, i have found that you hear try to learn a bit, move on play songs, comeback to it, hear some more and gradually over time it makes more sense and starts to fall a litte bit into place . I guess music knowledge is endless so we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves, just keep chipping away

Hi sam
Can i talk to the elephant in the room?
Not that there is anything wrong with you joining any website you choose, if your a master of guitar and have taught for 40 years, what is your reason to join a “simplified” guitar course? This is just a inquisitive question, not a attack on motives, its hard to word things correctly on paper lol i mean no offense ☺

Hi Nico
I have a Taylor 314ce for same reasons when i bought it.
I cheated a bit, my wife and i sang a song together for our guest at reception, it was our own song we wrote about how we came together, a great memory will never forget.
hope it went well ?

Hi Rich
new here just saying hi,
I think we all can relate to bad private lesson experiences, you just have to keep looking to you find the right one! when you do, it really changes things. I remember many times stressing the lesson because life got in the way of 100% commitment to practice time. I now have a great accommodating teacher who is available text email etc outside of lesson…Read More

this my 2nd intro, i’m not sure what happened to the other one?
Brad here from Maitland NSW Australia. I have been playing guitar for 8 years, i started when i was 38. I would say i am an intermediate player, but struggle with timing and counting in songs and struggle to learn songs, particular christian songs on the net. I suppose i jump from one thing to practice to the next not…Read More

Hey Mike, thanks for the kind words, and your suggestion. I’ll add it to my list of songs to draw from for future lessons. Take care!

I’m sorry for the loss of your grandpa, Cheryl. May the Lord comfort your heart until you meet again.
I’m so happy you played for your grandpa. I’m thinking that he never heard such sweet music that day…because it was you who played it for him. That was so special and something you will never forget. Keep that torch going! -

Follow up to my plan and purpose:
I just returned from traveling on a long ago planned trip to visit my best friend in San Diego. I had strong feelings about going, and repeatedly spoke to family about changing it. I was uneasy because my Grandpa was failing in health. My family said he would tell you to go and enjoy yourself, so go. I went.
I called daily, because of the unr…Read More

Hello James,
I share your feeling of being drawn here. I truly hope you will enjoy the good spirit here. Even though I have never met this group in person, it feels like a family. We are all trying to keep everything our own life needs us to do, and to fulfill a need to learn, make music, and have fun (even if it is hard work). Great to have you here!

Glad you’re here James!
You are correct about Jonathan. He is a man of faith and a family man. He is conscientious in trying to always give us the best tools to make us better guitar players.
Looks like you’ve had a bit of a gap in your guitar playing experience but the important thing is that you have returned to it.
All the best to you James. -

Hi Folks
I was drawn to this site because I was drawn to Jonathan. From reading his background, he appears to be a man of faith and a great family man. It was a no brainer to financially support him. This country needs many more like him.
That said, I must confess that I am not a beginner. I played some in my teens, altho I never took lessons. I can read music and pick out melodies. I…Read More
