Review the “Learn How To Practice” video in the 7 Day Song Challenge section if you haven’t already. Implementing this will help you to ease your way into combining all of these different skills.

Hey David. You’re gunna get it! Yes, I agree not moving forward until you nail your first song.
Can you record yourself attempting to play the song, and either put it in the Facebook group or email it to me? That way I can pinpoint exactly where the issue is.

David I have a different challenge. I’ve got the strumming and chord changes down. However I’m struggling with singing and playing at the same time. Ironically BB King had the same problem. In an interview he revealed he either played guitar or sang but never simultaneously.

If you come across a song that has a chord chart on the ultimate guitar website, just open the chord chart on a separate page. Ultimate guitar also allows you to download the chord chart as a PDF or you can print it out as well. That way you don’t have to keep going back to ultimate guitar.

Hi Everyone.  I am Stan Pierson, Augusta, KS.  I decided at age 61 to take up the guitar (2 years ago).  I bought an old Stella Harmony that is pretty much a wall-hanger and plucked on it until my fingertips were raw.  It has a bowed neck and no adjustment, so it has moved on to wall-hanger.  I bought a Seagull Entourage and love it.  Nice to play and great tone.
